ITS BEEN A GOOD GOOD YEAR!

The snow has fallen and has not melted away yet...going on two days now so....
looks like Mr. Winter is here to stay...

The Iceman Cometh! now that is a bike race! Last weekend I had the opportunity (so close to home) to race in 30mile point to point race from Kalkaska to Traverse City, Michigan. 4,000 mountain bikers...today race strategy was pass everything on two wheels, keep passing, and don't eat sand!!!! I sprinted pass 1,000 people for a 12th place (in age) in a deep field of ladies. Felt like I was riding in a Nintendo game. The lead pace was really really fast, kind of hoping for them to slow down a little until we got into the woods.  Needless to day I last 8min ...its progress.

What a great summer!  9 months 9 races and lots of top tens! Some nice photos in order of "love the bike moments"(and few references to death)..... hard to believe ALL that progress in ONLY 9 months.....

1-BCBR- 10th ...the must do many times before you die bike race!

2-Iceman Cometh-"(12th). 30miles of wildness on bikes.

3-USA Cycling Pontiac Lake TT-20miles....okay everyone loves to stand on this ...

4-Copper Harbor Fat Tire Festival 28miles Upper Michigan (4th); blissful single track and lots of climbing and descending (4,000ft) with great after party outside under the stars!  This was was incredibly challenging on many levels. Many things were overcome at this race....more importantly I didn't die....

5-Opus Spring 8 Hour-Mansfield (4th ): Super bike riding partner Scott Irwin. Will see this SUPER team back again next year... those spacers you can move them around but you cannot remove them...a really important point...a hand over your bike tools moment of death...but I was saved :)

6-Paris To Ancaster-60km (road race) in the snow for 7th place...not sure many people were laughing
(I was...at the roadies in the mud)...they get really upset :)

7-Michigan Mountain Mayhem (Road Race)-100km 4,500 ft of climbing! Yah I love climbing!
3rd (female open) and 20th/147 riders overall.

8-Ontario Cup Final Provincials (7th?)-2 very quick hard painful laps.
No pictures but Duntroon is very pretty.
9-Ontario Cup (4th)-Woodnewton...All I remembering being cold, sleeping in my car (but I don't live in my car) and long drive for 2 laps.....

What's next? Tour of Grischa???
