Canada Fun and Updates

I co-chair a committee dedicated to building a community bicycle park/pump track.  It has been a long awaited journey of consultations, considerations and hurdles.  The proposal took 3 years...fun eh?   Tho the fun news is that our little community bicycle park has been approved for construction for summer of 2014 (due to aqueduct construction delaying building).  The park is to be built in small park (32x115m) in down town core. The community in the down town core is in great need of barrier free access to play. The park is vacant of structures and has some mature trees and undulating terrain, so will be perfect for pump track and little people mad skillz area.  The park is to be family friendly with places to sit, view within close proximity of the local HUB trail (bike path that encircles the city). We are currently seeking a proposal for design and contraction company.  We have a sizeable chunk of money to spend..I'm so excited going to be amazing!

Always bicycle dream she be....

Went to visit my parents on Canada Day weekend. My mom and I spent several hours testing out various recipes from LCBO, facebook posts and family favourites.

Also getting back to training after much needed mid summer break off, sans bike.  Spent most of that time epic sleeping, reading, short hiking and time at the salon :) Getting back on the beauty wagon. Things get bit busy with work, training and life. Happy to enjoy the small moments and enough time to at least shave my legs!

Also missing the BC Bike Race, my west coast friends and family this year :(

Went to Crossfit class on Friday, did Curtis Ps (simple and hard) suffered dearly...didn't think the aftermath of that 10mins would be so bad. It was.  With what legs had leftover, busted up the big tower climb on former ontario cup race course in Elliot Lake. The trail is bit overgrown and tough. Spotted a few creatures along my way (fox, sneaky slinky little bear crawling down rock face and whole lotta bugs).
