Your totem Animal won't be in there to help you.

"Don't go in the pain cave. I can't stress this enough.  Your totem Animal won't be in there to help you.  You will be on your own.  The Pain Cave is for cowards" KStar. http://www.mobilitywod.com/

Operation sore leggy! Taking care of stuff...

yesterday I rode, when I probably shouldn't have. I always like to test the edge, just in case... A team of crushing muscles unleash itself on the long care ride home post Ocup#2 (Woodnewton).  Nothing like 10 hrs of driving to fuel the fire.  I even stop several times to stretch and move around.  Have lots of great smart people helping me figure out what to stretch, SMR and just beat the heck out of.   Seems to be helping and improving quickly.   Ontario Cup #2 @ Woodnewton Uxbridge is a fun race course, could use a few more roots and bigger rocks in the garden, but have to say, these races leave me very motivated to come back and get faster! Props to these fast group of ladies.

Improvements for the good, I am just under the 4km/hr faster +1lap more than I was last year at this same race.  This the start of my second mtb race season, so staying in the moment can be tricky. Not always sure how to navigate crossing wheels, rubbing up against each other and trusting my super engine is not going to have a meltdown (but it sure feels like one). Coming into this racing little later than most, so need to keep working on my crazy skills.

Some great podiums for the racing Bettys!

On a nerdy note, I think I have been kicked out of book club, too funny.  It is bike season?  Started reading The Ride Journal.  My personal favourite is Horse Power by Sally Bigham.  It is about her unorthodox journey into cycling awesomeness!

It is a collection of unique stories and captivating photography of personal cycling experiences and can download three issues for free or order the book. Good way to pass the time and relax.
