Go Walk the Plank

Tough day in the land of ski and wax..... nothing like -2 and -14 all on the same day.  Yesterday I spend the better part of the day double polling 15km......use your time or lose your time....but my arms are tired!!

Although in a 50km classic race...most likely about 20km of double polling...
You have to put things in ?????

I am trying to learn to let go of things that are beyond my control. Bad day on skis/mt..let it go.   Its obvious, yet so easy to forget a person is only in control of two things, their thoughts and actions. Other things I have no control over, weather/SNOW conditions, other peoples thoughts and actions......
..... I have to admire those xc skiers...after the start gun goes off...its YOURS for the whole 50km......you have no control of the wax AFTER the race has started!
...makes mtb so simple by comparison really!!!.

Gearing up for the yearly Noquemanon Ski Marathon (http://www.noquemanon.com/)  in couple of weeks (hence the title go walk the plank)....the lack of snow has been sad....but something you have very little control over.  Thus...is now new goal...  The race is amazing and despite the lack of now I am very excited.
The race is never dull and deceptively difficult...a flat lake crossing, some big ripping downhills and some nasty uphills.  The three-time marathon classic champion Mike Myers of Montana-have even found the need to slow down at some point along the trail to take in the spectacular scenery (In the Noquemanon racers code, its permissible to stop for scenic viewing..during the race)

Its all downhill after 25km....not really says my legs from last year!

Much deserved Chai Latte stop afterwards with my friend Natalie *who I have not seen in waaay to long... makes it all better!

My fav Nat photo...up front and close!...to the Nicks Game.  Keep working on those Nick Tickets in NYC!
