I need more pictures for the blog....will work on that.
Had a hard and fast race! certainly challenged my quickness, skills, and new bike feeling for 7th place. My reaction to the competition was a positive one, those ladies are fast and the women field seem to get deeper and deeper. The BCBR had only 4 women first year, grew to 7 and now its amazing!
I feel like a diesel engine in short races, but once I get up ang rolling, things do speed up! Doing multiple laps around and around is not my favourite as I am definitely motivated by the unknown/adventure associated in my racing. (but also motivated by big challenges on short hurty speedy laps). Second lap somehow felt slower (but in reality was faster!) as I made some silly errors that was not necessary and may in fact been much faster! Thanks Melinda for some words of motivation "Come on! pedal harder", I love it!
HBCC do make good bike trails. Had the chance to watch part of the elite race, variety of bike body position on the DH sections...some better than other and some people seem to deteriorate over time....
My friend Kate is an owner of fantastic eco tourism company in Brazil and spends a few months a year in Canada as a message therapist http://www.eco-libriumadventures.com/ . Decided at last minute message/ hydrotherapy (where Kate works). Apparently no giggling and chatting loudly in the pools and they told us to shut up. Ha.
She took me to a great restaurant (Pure), which is always a super treat to eat out in a GF restaurant that is SUPER YUMMY.
Also, here is good video from last weeks race in Copper Harbor! Michigan http://vimeo.com/28889040.
